Light Planes
From the main ceiling removed translucent plane, which covers the light source. The translucent plane can be of a variety of materials, such as glass, acrylic, or cloth. The planes can be composed of either structured or unstructured frames, color frames or constantly changing color backdrops. Light planes are usually designed to adapt its colors to the environments physiology and the time of day.

Light Walls and Floors
Similar to light planes, light walls and floors are illuminated surfaces where the light source is hidden behind the translucent plane. When planing light floors, one needs to take into account structural requirements. Function and usage limitations need to be taken into consideration by the lighting designers.
